New clients often feel vulnerable when taking the first step toward counseling. It’s natural to feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure about what comes next. However, you don’t have to navigate this season alone.
At Melissa’s practice, new clients are welcomed with care, guidance, and support from the very first session. Each step of the process is designed to help you feel seen, understood, and empowered to make meaningful progress in your mental health journey.
Whether you are seeking relief from anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, or simply want to show up more fully in your life, this space provides the tools, encouragement, and safe environment you need. Taking that first step as a new client is often the hardest—but it is also the most important step toward growth, balance, and emotional well-being.

What do you mean by “Christian Counseling?”
“Christian Counseling” refers to the Biblical foundation on which counseling is based. The Old and New Testament writings provide me with foundational knowledge about who we are, who God is, and how we are designed to relate to God, each other, and creation. Additionally, this provides insight into the core problems of the human soul.
What is a Licensed Professional Counselor?
A Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) holds a state license to provide counseling. To earn this license, the counselor completes a graduate degree in a counseling field, passes the Licensed Professional Counselor board exam, and finishes 3,000 hours of supervised internship. Licensed counselors maintain their credentials through ongoing continuing education.
My Fee Structure
My fee is $180 for a 50-minute session. I work as an out-of-network provider, so I can provide you with a “super bill” upon request. You can submit this bill to your insurance provider for partial reimbursement—be sure to check with your insurance company for their rates. Furthermore, I do not participate in insurance panels. This approach allows me to tailor the course of intervention to your specific needs while protecting your privacy. In my experience, clients get much better results this way.
